Hearts for the Homeless

Sometimes you just have one of those days that's perfect from beginning to end. That was Saturday ♡ even though we didn't get back until after 7pm.

Thank you to New Brunswick Church of Christ who provided sloppy joes, green beans and some fabulous homemade cookies. They are never happy with just providing a meal either. It came with a truckload of items like toothpaste, deodorant, flashlights, lots and lots of snacks and canned goods, socks, hats, gloves and more.

What a glorious day. We were met with smiles at our first stop, and every stop actually ♡. There's been a bit of animosity on my part with a few people there and Saturday we smashed that, hugged, apologized and are starting fresh. We were there for over an hour and it was pretty awesome. There is, however, a guy there who is in the final stages of MS. It's quite heartbreaking to see and know there is nothing we can do to help.

Every stop afterwards was the same. Lots of time spent just hanging out yesterday. People's hearts are opening a little and we're getting questions about God, salvation, heaven, forgiveness, repentance. In John 6 Jesus said, “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them”. In other words, the only way we can seek God is if the Holy Spirit has first stirred our hearts with a desire for God. It is God who draws us to Himself and prepares hearts in His perfect timing and we are so blessed to be His vessels for times such as these. Keep the prayers up for God to fill every one of them with this desire and to equip us for the flood that's coming.

We finally tore into the donations from Crossroads Church. Unbelievable! Between this drive, Avon Fill the Trailer, Lebanon Fill The Trailer, Lumpia Creations and some of your donations we're going to be able to put together some nice Christmas gift bags!

Then we will be receiving items from the Christmas/Winter drive at the Danville School Corporation God provides exceedingly abundantly!!!!

Some sweet ladies from a neighborhood in Avon came by with a nice collection of items they had gathered, including these cool crocheted hat scarves.

One of the Avon food pantries contacted us with many boxes of handwarmers!

A long time supporter who is moving away stopped by with all kinds of blankets and other needed items. We have become pretty close with many of our supporters and we're really gonna a miss them and are praying for them on this new journey.

We received a generous donation from an anonymous supporter. Saturday the insurance bill arrived. Every time our insurance payment or other larger fees come due God provides! Literally every single time

Maria will be joining us again next Saturday. She will be giving hair cuts and scheduling other hair cuts every other week. This woman's energy and personality is contagious and they really like her.

I know I'm forgetting someone or something we appreciate each and every one of you.

Last Thursday we posted 12 (I think) of our friends to be adopted. All but 2 have been chosen! We are so amazed at the excitement for this. We did spend extra time yesterday tracking down those that we've missed so we will be posting another handful again this week. For those of you who have adopted someone, the smile you've put in our hearts is unexplainable!!! We will be sending you their details later this evening.

Remember we are selling Texas Roadhouse gift cards through the rest of this week. We will not be using the funds for the Biltwell (entirely too pricey). We will be using the funds to stock up on serving trays, cups and other necessary items.

Please bare with us. If you've messaged or commented and we haven't responded please send another message. Our FB page, specifically messenger, has been acting up. This is our busiest time of year so we're doing our best to keep up with everything between work and our families so thank you for your patience and understanding.

Remember the donation bin is locked as we are at max capacity right now. If you have something you're interested in donating please contact us. If anyone ever has the urge to provide a meal for about 20 feel free to let us know. The amount of new people we're seeing increases every week and we're having to turn people down. We could easily feed 80-100 people these days just along our current route. A random meal late in the week could definitely be added to the Meal Train meal on a Saturdays!

Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
