Hearts for the Homeless

What a wonderful day! Full of smiles and laughs and love at 80% of our stops. A very rare JR ♡♡ Jose came with us so there's lots of pictures.

We were blessed to serve pulled pork, green beans, applesauce, pringles and rice krispy treats from the loving hearts at New Brunswick Church of Christ. We made almost twice as much hot water as coffee but it still wasn't enough. They love hot chocolate!!! We served 64 people. Our current meal sign ups are for 50 people and we could easily serve 80+. We have to bypass so many people The numbers are continually growing. Camps are being shut down and people are forced to move around again and again. Constant changes. Turmoil here and there. And this weather makes everything so much harder. We need to keep our friends in our prayers, as well as individuals/couples/families living in their vehicles or on the verge of being forced into the streets. For most we visit it's a lifestyle; people recently and newly displaced are thrown into a foreign, helpless and hopeless nightmare. And it's happening all over with zero discrimination!

Praises! Praises! There are always praises. We received some handmade soap from a sweet lady in Lizton. Several people have dropped off much much needed tents, tarps, sleeping bags and other very helpful items. We received a few unexpected monetary donations. We get messages and calls from people all over central Indiana asking how they can help or to arrange delivery of something special they're doing. We have been invited to attend the Christmas Market at The Sixpence in Zionsville on December 11.

Someone potentially adopted 5 people today. If you didn’t get a chance to pick someone there are 4 remaining on the post before this one. And we may have some super exciting news to share early this week so stay tuned. Gifts have started rolling in and every single time my heart just leaps with joy. I don't know if you all realize just how absolutely special this is going to be for many of them. And not to say this has been easy, because it hasn't LOL - but for an idea -that we almost thought wouldn't work- to come together so perfectly and seamlessly can be nothing but God! Something very special is going to come from this

One of our friends who was once without a home was baptized this morning Another of our friends has had a super rough few weeks and has been completely empty. He was praying Friday night and he said He saw God's light - in the pitch black with his eyes closed and it was so bright that he couldn't open his eyes (he does not do drugs). How blessed amidst his storm ♡

On the mountain, in the valleys, there was Jesus. In the shadows of the alleys, there was Jesus. In the fire, in the flood, always is and always was

For every time I feel tired of giving up my Saturdays and evenings we are reminded that if this isn't what we were supposed to be doing God wouldn't continue to provide and overflow. This is God's outreach. He started it, He grew it, He sustains it, He has provided perfectly and abundantly for 7 years and every time there is a big need He has come through in His jaw-dropping manner. And all of you are just as much a part of Hearts for the Homeless, we are just the ones that deliver what your hearts provide.

Thank you. Thank you to those who have done so much that we've never mentioned. Thank you to those who advocate for us. Thank you to those that pray. Thank you to all of you! Enjoy your week, be safe and smile a lot.

Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
